BBQ weekend

Had a lovely weekend (apart from having to work but still!) Went to our friends on Saturday afternoon for a BBQ. The men went all native on us & chopped down a load of trees & got to play with the chipper that Zain had on hire! We (the Women!) sat in the sun & chatted (hard life). Bill's mum must have heard rumours of a stray coach trip nearby since she cooked enough food for at least 50 people when there were only 19 of us. It was a good day though. Got stuck in work until 5.30pm on Sunday which was a bit of a blow to my day (I was meant to finish at lunch time) but we went to Bill & Julie's for BBQ-Mark2 to dust off some left overs from Saturday. Apart from needing to get to work for 6am today so wanting to get to bed early I have had a good weekend.
I've been carrying on with the Race for Life training. I have discovered Water Running. I have been spending 30minutes each day running through the water in the pool. It makes you look like an idiot & doesnt feel like hard work when you are in the pool but when you get out your legs certainly feel it! Its only 3 weeks to go now until the actual event and I'm really looking forward to it. Actually it'll be a busy couple days - I'm doing the run on the 9th then off up to Coventry on the 10th for John's Graduation ceremony.
On that note - CONGRATULATIONS JOHN! I am so proud of him on getting a First in his Chemistry degree. I could never have managed to do anything even similar so well done to him.

Summer!

I am totally loving the whole summer-lying-in-the-sun-chilling-out thing that is going on at the minute. This is the first summer in ages that I feel like I've really enjoyed from the start & I intend to continue enjoying it! I am also totally loving having my evenings to myself again - its bloody great!! As it is at the minute I am working 5 days a week (altho that does include Saturdays & Sundays but still no evenings so not too bad.) I am finished at work by 5pm most days (2pm on others - woo!) so I am getting to spend afternoons & evenings by the pool at the minute...ah, its a hard life!
In between the chilling out though I have been going off for walks in preperation for the Race for Life. Its only just over 4 weeks away now & I am still looking to up my sponsorship total (hint hint!) I think it is such a good cause as cancer comes into the lives of so many people and having the chance to help Cancer Research seems like something everyone should do. So DIG DEEP!

Well I've finished...

So I have finished at the Billy. I was meant to be finishing tomorrow but I have finished already! This is due to finding out this morning that rather than being paid cash into my bank account on the last day of the month like I am supposed to be I have been given a cheque in with my payslip last night. I am SO not happy about it. The cheque won't clear until Wednesday at the earliest so I am beyond skint. I have had to borrow cash off my parents to put my account right until such time as it does clear which to be fair is just not on. Not many peoples families have wads of cash lying around so I'm lucky I'm in a position where they were even able to help me.
So basically I have said that I am taking the holiday owed to me and not going back in! Today therefore has been great since the weather is LOVELY today and I have spent the afternoon by the pool (after getting into the bank & paying in the cash & my cheque!)
