Wow!

Ok, so you know I said I was meeting Mike on Friday? Well plans change! Last night I left work really needing to get out of the house so I thought “what the hell, bite the bullet!” and rang Mike to see what he was doing. Wonderfully as the answer was “Nothing” we arranged to go see Oceans 13 at the Picture House. Can I just say, best film I have not watched in a long time!!! But I am getting ahead of myself.

I arranged to meet him at Tuckers since its easy to find and I then drove us into town. I was still in kind of a bad mood from work and basically ranted the whole way into town which, whilst not a great first impression did at least mean I didn’t have time to be nervous!! When we got out of the car I basically calmed down and said hello!

And then he kissed me.

I could have quite happily scrapped the film altogether and just stood there, in the middle of the car park, and kissed him for the rest of the night. We didn’t scrap the film though, we eventually stopped kissing long enough to walk to the cinema, have a drink and find our seats in the screen. The rest of the time in the cinema was a bit of a blur! The film was on, I think it was ok, it had Brad & George & Matt in it so it cant have been bad but I was somewhat distracted by Mike. We were sat holding hands and it just felt so right. After the film we wondered down to the quay and stood on the bridge talking and kissing and it was BRILLIANT! B-R-I-L-L-I-A-N-T!!!

It feels like I have known him forever not that I have only just met him. Seriously, best first date in the history of the world EVER!

Quiet couple of weeks but…

Well the last couple of weeks haven’t been very exciting. The weather has turned again and has been overcast and wet and miserable. I haven’t really been out or done anything. However there is a ‘but…’! Basically it’s been a quiet couple of weeks BUT I have met a guy! Well not strictly true. I haven’t met him yet but for the last two weeks I have been talking to a guy called Mike who, I dunno, just seems great. I don’t want to tempt fate and say anything too much yet but let me just say I really REALLY hope we get on as well in real life as we do online because talking to him is just so amazingly easy and he seems, well, as I have already said – GREAT! We are meeting up on Friday so fingers crossed!

The Summer Is Here!

I LOVE THE SUMMER! Woo! The last week has been gorgeous and I have actually had a bit of a chance to get outside and enjoy it which is even better.

Grandma & I have been going out for walks in the evening which I have really enjoyed. I tend to march along which I think Grandma was a bit surprised by but I am not going out just for the sake of going for a walk, I want to lose some weight and get a bit fitter. Apart from the fact that it is making my hayfever play up it’s a really nice way to kill an hour each evening.

On Thursday I had the day off work and was up super-early to leave home at 6.30 with Mum, Dad, Bill, Julie & Little Man to go to Royal Cornwall Show. I have never been to Royal Cornwall before. I usually go to Devon County but couldn’t this year as I was in Salisbury visiting Clare so I thought as Mum & Dad were planning on going I would go with them. I’m really glad I did. It’s a lovely show.
We got to the showground after a little bit of time in traffic but nothing major and the first thing I saw, while we were sat in the traffic in fact, was a massive hot air balloon…with EDF Energy all over it!! Typical! Once we were in the show we had a bit of a wander around and then headed to the DAF stand for coffee before more looking around the trade stands (where Mum & Julie bought many tops!) We then positioned ourselves beside one of the horse rings to watch the showing and wait for Cathy Jane. It was such gorgeous weather too but I was not really dressed for it. I was planning on wearing more summery clothes but thought I might be tempting fate so I wore jeans & a t-shirt but I was SO hot. I ended up going and buying a pair of shorts, another t-shirt & a hat (I LOVE the hat!) Lunch consisted of a gorgeous roll from the hog roast & a pint of Guinness Extra Cold!! Ideal!
We ended up leaving the show at about 6pm after a really great day and when we got home Mum gave me a present – she had bought me a bracelet I had seen & liked but decided against buying! It’s really nice – thanks Mum!

Friday evening and Saturday were spent doing highly important summer stuff…basically lying by/in the pool!! The weather was so gorgeous on Friday when I got home from work that I decided against going out for a walk and went down by the pool for a while instead…hmm, a while turned into all evening! Spent some time sunbathing, some time floating round on a lilo, some time playing catch with a beach ball (and Courts – I wasn’t just throwing it to myself!) and plenty of time just enjoying the great weather.

Saturday was pretty much a carbon copy of Friday evening to be honest! Well, I did get up and go for a walk on my own first thing in the morning but then the rest of the day was spent mostly by the pool in the sun! Ideal! I have to admit I am a little red but fingers crossed for the red bits going brown rather than their usual trick of Red to Pink to Peeling to back to being white ☹!

Today has been the South Hams Motor Club autocross which was cool. Me & Dad went to marshal as always and had the idiot boy in tow (and trust me, he really is an idiot!) It was quite a long day but the weather was lovely again (and again I was wearing jeans and regretting it – ended up rolling them up!) Took lots of photos and enjoyed being out in the sun again.

I have to say I really do love the summer. The nice weather makes me so much happier and I can’t help but smile & want to be outside. I hope it stays nice for the rest of the summer.

Busy old weekend

I have had a crammed but good weekend! Friday I had an early finish from work to give me time to prep some things for Saturday, get to the post office & generally kick back. Saturday was BUSY!

There was a memorial service at Teign School for Mr Ramps then I had to draw 2 nearly-naked bodies! Yes that is what I said! One guy (in Calvin Kleins) and one woman (in a bikini) on flip chart sized paper. I then had to make a penis & a pair of boobs!! All the reasons for this will become clear shortly!
At 4pm I made my way down to the Double Locks to meet up with Gem & Chris from work for their ‘Hag Do’. This would be their joint Hen/Stag do! This would also be the reason behind me drawing random partly dressed people & body parts – pin the body part on the person! After a few drinks I felt like I had caught up with the rest of the group who mostly had been drinking for some time at bowling already. The atmosphere was great, the weather held out, we played rounders and chatted and laughed and ate before I got picked up at 8ish to disappear off to the Plymouth Rally.

Now I was slightly worse for wear by the time me & Dad arrived at Launceston Rugby club but I was in good spirits until we found that we had been given two measly PCs…the first one not until 1 in the morning. NOT happy. We had rang the guy organising the marshals and told him that yes, we were coming, we were going to be a bit late (9pm) but we would DEFNINATELY be there and wanted to be kept busy as I was giving up a night out, Dad was having to work the next morning and we were driving some distance just to marshal. So to be given just two PCs really took the proverbial. But as we were there already we decided to just go with it. As it was so long til our first control and we were in the rugby club and I was already drunk I decided best to carry on as I had started and had another pint! We spent some time chatting with Alan & his family before heading out to our first control and catching some sleep before course opening car…yea, bad idea. Drink + Stop Drinking + Sleep = Feeling Rough! I made it through the first control OK though and then we relocated to our second control. Hmm, closest I have ever come to throwing up whilst reading a map in the car! I felt beyond awful at the second control but I made it, I wasn’t sick and we were finished! Dad dropped me home and I was tucked up in bed by 5am with the remnants of my hangover while Dad went on to work. Can’t say that I was overly impressed with the general running of the rally, not from a marshals perspective and from what I have heard from competitors it was nearly as good on their side!

I have spent today snoozing on and off, wrote in my journal and played on the laptop so an ideal Sunday really.
