O what a weekend!

Last night was BRILLIANT! We drank WAY too much, danced like idiots (which was fine since we all LOOKED like idiots!) and basically had an amazing night out! There are photos on my MySpace page for those that want to see the carnage! I didn’t get home til nearly 4am this morning since we were the last ones in the club when the lights were being switched on at 3am and then I went for chips for some God-Knows-Why reason!

This morning I can safely say the idea of getting out of bed and driving (yes, me, driving after last night) to Newquay today really didn’t appeal. But I did it. I dragged my sorry, hungover arse out of bed and went to Teignmouth to pick of John, Adam & Troe. We got to Fistral Beach at about half 10 ish and spent a good while playing Frisbee on the beach which was cool since the tide was out so the beach was huge and the sand really soft & sinky which was hilarious when John turned round to run after the Frisbee and just fell straight over! Well hilarious for us. We walked around the coastal path to Newquay town where we went to Walkabout and had the best burgers in the world, period. Troe had a real craving for a burger so after a bit of a wonder around we headed into Walkabout and got a great table right in the window (Newquay’s Walkabout is right on the cliff edge overlooking the beach and has floor to ceiling windows) We then had the yummiest, biggest, bestest burgers ever which was just what was needed I feel! After lunch we made our way back to Fistral via a little shop so John could buy a bucket & spade! We found a spot on the beach and Adam & John made a sandcastle complete with moat and see channel. Adam got hit in the backs of the legs by a rather large wave but otherwise it was without incident! We eventually headed home after Troe had collected lots of shells and they had all filled my car with sand! It was a gorgeous day, great weather which was fortunate but made the drive home hard especially since I was so tired anyway. I had to pull over on the way back since I was falling asleep (the others already were asleep!) but I got us home in one piece after a really nice day. It was good to see Adam & Troe again and I know John will be sorry to see them go home.

I can’t see!

My eye has been so sore this week. I managed to get grit in it on Tuesday and stupidly I rubbed it…yea, that’s not a good idea! The grit went under my lens and scratched my eyeball which, let me tell you, hurts like buggery!! I have not been able to wear my contacts all week (had to resort to glasses – bleugh!)

I did meet up with Gareth for a couple hours on Tuesday night; we went for a wander along the river and chatted…! He was up in Exeter pricing up a job so we only met up for a bit when he had finished there but still, it was nice to see him.

There were four of us for the cinema this week as Troe & Adam, John’s cousin & her husband, are back for travelling round Europe. We went to see 300 at the Picture House. I thought it was a good film, it wasn’t really John’s cup of tea (in fact it was another film he fell asleep in!) but I think Adam liked it and Troe could appreciate the direction etc.

Last night I went out for a meal with Alex…God, he’s a hard one to read. Its really annoying coz we do get on really well, he’s really ideal boyfriend material (he’s nice, so romantic, kind, funny, caring) but I dunno, I just don’t think I LIKE him like him. It sucks.

Anyways, tonight it is Party Night! It’s Nat’s do and I cannot wait. It should be so good! Not sure how I’ll be feeling moro morning but never mind!

Hello Hello

Me again! Had a good couple of days, enjoying the nice weather and the such!

Thursday a load of us from work had a paid-for night out at the bowling with food and drinks with the tab picked up by Laurent (my contract manager) It was all for people who have been working on the Orange & T-Mobile accounts. It was a good night out. I didn’t bowl (I have an irrational fear of bowling!) but I had food and a couple drinks. A few of us went over the the Prospect after bowling for a few more drinks before heading home. It was fun.

Friday night I went on a blind date! I met a guy called Gareth who is 21 (so young!) tall, cute and a really nice guy. We got on really well (I think!) and I really like him. We just clicked which is cool. I don’t want to jinx it though so we’ll just say we’ll have to wait and see…

Me & Nat went to Torquay yesterday to get fancy dress outfits since it’s her birthday next week and we are going out as is the tradition of Nat’s birthdays. We did some brilliant Primark shopping and all I can say is my outfit it so AWFUL it’s GREAT!! Can’t wait although think I am going to have to be rather drunk to go out dressed in it! Was going to go out last night with Carla but that didn’t happen – I was knackered and Carla was still feeling like death after a heavy Friday night!

Had another lazy day today, been up the field, been down with Grandma, read my book. Exciting stuff!

Days of BOREDOM!

Wow! Me & John have just been to see Days Of Glory at the Picture House…yea, BORING! Actually that’s being mean; it is a good film with an interesting subject showing a different side to World War 2 but the film was just too long and really predictable. In fact John went to sleep at one point!

On a different note, John found out today that he has been offered the job in Edinburgh that he went for. I am really pleased for him but also gutted that he will be moving away and MILES away at that. O well, he’s not going til the end of May so I’ve got him around for a while longer.

Busy Few Days!

Well the last couple of days have been packed!

There was no cinemaing on Wednesday since John was away but Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday have made up for it.

Thursday night me, Courts, Grandma, Grandad, Nick, Deb, Tom, Barbara, Malcolm & Deb’s friend all went down to Torquay to see the musical Cats. We all went to Wetherspoon’s first for a meal which was paid for by Grandma & Grandad. We then headed around to the theatre for the show. We were sat way up in the circle and I wish I had taken my glasses as well as my contacts since my sight isn’t shit hot anymore but I could see ok. The only problem was it was SO hot in there. It was horrible, Courts felt quite sick and Nick was falling asleep. It was really uncomfortable during the first half. Thank God for the interval! We made sure we went outside to cool down and get some fresh air. Thankfully in the 2nd half the ventilation seemed to be better (I’m guessing lots of people complained). It was a really good show, the cast just don’t stop moving from the second they come on stage to the second they go off and they are so bendy! I found it a little hard to follow the words during some of the songs where the whole company was singing but otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Friday night was one of the highlights of my year so far…

MCFLY!!!

Yup, me & Courts went to see the lovely McFly boys again. I managed to get tickets for the concert in Plymouth and I am so glad I did – it was brilliant! The support was Lil’ Chris and he was cool (little too!) then the boys were on and did a good mix as always; some old stuff, some new, couple of covers. I am particularly loving their new single – Transylvania. Dougie sings lead for the first time and its just a really catchy song.

It was quite funny during the concert since I suddenly realised that the girl sat the other side of Courts was the daughter of the people who bought the Billy (the same people who were the reason I left!) It was obvious we knew who she was, don’t know if she worked out who we were since we never spoke to her. We stopped off at McDonalds at Marsh Mills on the way home since we were starving then headed home to beddy-bies!

Yesterday me & Courts headed back to Plymouth but this time to see Fame at the Theatre Royal. Is was really really good. The cast was brilliant although the acting style was a bit slap-stick it still worked. Abi who had been one of the contestants on “How do you solve a problem like Maria?” was in it too. The singing and dancing was amazing and at the end they had every one in the audience stood up clapping, dancing and singing along to the theme song! Once again we ended up getting food on the way home, this time Chinese from the takeaway in Chudleigh!

So that brings me to today…today I went into town and met up with a guy called Alex who I have been chatting to for a while. We met at the Imperial for a quick drink and then went to the Picture House to watch Curse Of The Golden Flower. He seems a really nice guy, really quiet and I just talked shit (sorry – MORE shit than usual!) so I don’t know what he really thought. To be honest I am not sure there’s really any spark but that could be more down to us both just being nervous, I’ll just have to wait and see…

Oh – Curse Of The Golden Flower – good film!

Happy Easter

Well the long weekend is nearly over but it has been really good.

Friday morning I headed into town to buy egg related stuff both for Mum (nothing like forward planning!) as well as goodies for the evening. You see John & Hev came over for an evening of grown up entertainment…an Easter Egg Hunt! I bought two ‘Egg Hunt Kits’ from Thornton’s and got Grandma to hide the contents in the garden. Me John Hev Courts & James then ran round like idiots looking for them! It was great fun! The three of us (me John & Hev) then went to the Ley Arms for a meal which Hev insisted on paying for much to our annoyance. Really nice evening though – good company, good fun, good food; what more can you ask for?

Saturday saw us taking a day trip – we went to the Zoo! It was great; we arrived about 10am just as the zoo opened so we had a full day to explore. We also made sure we had our entry forms for the Egg Hunt that the zoo was holding too! The weather was brilliant and we had plenty of time to get round all the animals. We had a picnic lunch, supplied by John – Thank You John – sat out on the grass in the sun which was nice. I think we saw all the animals including the very cute baby rhino and the Giant Tortoises (which Hev was really rather excited about!) We finally left at about 3 after we were satisfied we had seen everything and even had a go on the train! It was a really nice day and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The rest of the weekend has been quite a lazy one – Sunday Tom did his first motocross, Cath & Tim came up with Cath’s horse so Mum, Courts & Cath went out riding and I spent the day laid out in the sun with my book…hard life! Today’s been more of the same, lazy lazy days!

Amazing Grace

John & I went to see Amazing Grace at the Picture House tonight – it was a really good film, so moving and very well executed. John had to be impressed with my restraint – I managed to watch right up til 5 mins from the end before I mentioned Michael Gambon being Dumbledore! You can read our thoughts on the film over on the joint blog…

April Fools!

Me, Dad, Courts & James went up to Smeatharpe today for a gymkhana that Dad had organised for Exeter Motor Club. It was really windy but not raining which was a nice change for Smeatharpe. We were up there by 10 to set up to start at midday but we didn’t start til nearly 1 although that worked out for the best as it meant we ended up with 15 entrants rather than about 5 (!) which made it a really good day. Amongst those entrants was a blast from the past too – Alex Bulley…need I say more?!

Bill, Rach & Little Man came up too which was good – Bill helped with time keeping and Rach & Little Man kept Courts company. They were off driving round in the pug; they couldn’t hurt anything up there so it was good for her driving too. We managed to keep James out the way as well; he went off with Simon Ford and got thrown around in his car for the day. We kind of hoped he would keep him on a more permanent basis but no such luck!

When I got home my face & eyes were so sore – I can recommend standing on an airfield all day as a wonderful way to exfoliate but not so great for your contact lenses!
